Meet you canine and human instructor, Megan!

Megan's training philosophy is simple: The key to training is a good relationship with your dog. What does this mean? Megan believes that the foundation of training is a strong relationship between dog and human. Just as humans want their dogs to listen, it is important that they learn to listen to their dogs. The best relationships are ones built out of mutual love and respect. This is Megan's ultimate goal with all of her students, both human and canine.

Megan believes in using the training methods that work best for each individual dog-human team. Just as there is no cookie cutter way to teach humans, there is no one single way to teach dogs. Of course there are certain principles that ring true regardless of methods, like having boundaries and structure in the home. Even with universal training principles, Megan treats each team as individuals and creates a training process best suited to the team. And although online courses may seem very cut and dry with how they teach, Megan makes every effort to be available to all her students so they can have an individual training experience just like her in-person students.

How has Megan been able to develop her training process? Just like many professions, dog trainers are lifelong students. Megan is constantly studying, researching, attending seminars, and reading to expand her training knowledge in order to provide her students with the best training possible. Megan's education achievements include bachelors degrees in accounting and management from the University of Miami, dog trainer certification from Animal Behavior College, completion of a NePoPo Theory Seminar by Lauren Turner, Trick Dog Instructor certification through Do More With Your Dog! (the US's leading trick and stunt dog organization), and a Pet CPR and First Aid certification, just to name a few!

Megan's ultimate goal is to teach owners to embrace their dog's personality instead of only valuing a dog who can listen, and teach owners that the most well-behaved dog is a dog that has as good relationship with its owner. If at the end of the day Megan's students feel they have improved their relationship with their dog, she considers training a success. A relation like that is truly irreplaceable and worth achieving!
